DESCRIPTION:Asian Family Support Services of Austin is so excited to announce that we are hosting a one-day conference in the new year centered around community healing\, policy and youth leadership. \nWhen: April 20\, 2024 \nWhere: ACC Highland \nWe know this anti-violence movement takes a village. We are #PartnersInProgress in disrupting violence and building hope\, in empowering our community to break cycles of violence. \nThe summit will feature three distinct tracks: Youth Leadership\, Healing\, and Policy. \n? The Youth Leadership track is dedicated to engaging and empowering both youths and service providers in conversations about harm reduction with culturally grounded practices. It offers a space to explore the nuances of identity-based harm within communities\, institutions\, and personal relationships. \n? The Survivor Healing Track is a dedicated space spotlighting diverse healing journeys\, particularly for survivors of Asian and immigrant cultures. From seeking justice to gaining community and family belief\, finding acceptance within\, and giving back to the movement – we’ll explore how justice varies in our communities and how community understanding shapes survivor healing. \n?The policy track includes a Policy 101 session specifically tailored for Texas with a focus on legislation that impacts survivors\, where participants will gain an understanding of the state legislature and the intricacies of policy-making ? \nMore information here: https://e.givesmart.com/events/AsH/
