DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to have our second session for our quarterly book club ‘Reading to Resistance’ hosted by A Better Force and Asian Family Support Services of Austin! \nIn our upcoming second session\, we will be discussing What My Bones Know\, a memoir about reckoning and healing by journalist Stephanie Foo\, investigating the little-understood science behind complex PTSD and how it has shaped her life. The book reckons with the hold of the past over the present\, the mind over the body\, and examines our ability to reclaim agency from trauma. \nWhy are we hosting this book club series? Because reading asks us to pay attention\, both to ourselves and the world around us. Our book club discussions will be a space to reflect on how these teachings can point us to a path of collective safety and liberation. \nCome join us\, and you don’t need to read the book beforehand!
