Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Deputy Director of Operations and Finance will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from project management (business development, budgeting, framing of key approaches, program evaluation and support) to administration (information technology, grant reporting, facilities), and human capital (HR/recruiting, mentoring, career progression).

Hotline Summer Intern
The Hotline Intern will be responsible for updating a resource guide to ensure staff members have up to date information on community services and resources. The resource guide should capture information such as medical, legal, housing, immigration, language access available for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors within the greater Austin area. This position will directly report to the Hotline Manager.
This is an unpaid part-time internship program which starts on June 5th and ends on August 25th. Hotline intern is expected to work a total of 15 hrs per week (10hrs at home and 5hrs in the office). Arabic & Burmese Language Access Program (LAP) Advocate Positions
AFSSA is seeking to hire part-time Language Access Program (LAP) Advocates to work with Asian survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and trafficking. The LAP advocate will serve as the communication and cultural bridge between AFSSA staff and various Asian communities by participating in one or both programs according to his/her preference.
Education, Training, and Experience: Required to be fluent or native speakers in Burmese, Vietnamese, and Arabic. A bachelor’s degree preferred but relevant life experience may be substituted for education. A strong relationship or understanding of the local ethnic community o Active listening, peer counseling, and facilitation skills. Knowledge of Asian cultures, respect for all cultures, and ability to interact with diverse groups. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Specifications $14.50/ hour for community outreach and advocacy work; $20/hour for client related interpretation; U.S. citizen or permanent resident only; Part-time position will involve a minimum of a 5 hour a week, with the possibility of more hours based on program needs.
