Finance Manager – Part Time

AFSSA is currently seeking a Part-Time Finance Manager (PTFM) to work with the Executive Director (ED) and the bookkeeper to ensure the agency’s financial processes and flow are efficient, accurate, and that AFFSA remains in compliance with all Grantor regulations, and general accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Direct Services

Director of Program Services – Full Time

The Director of Programs and Client Services will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the agency’s Direct Services programming, which includes case management, counseling and transitional housing programs that provide culturally-grounded and trauma-informed services for Asian and immigrant survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Additionally, the Director of Programs and Client Services will be responsible for supervising program staff; managing grant deliverables; liaising with community partners and technical assistance providers; and participation in program and organizational development. Education, Training, and Experience: Degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field with three (3) years of applicable experience or 5 years of relevant experience. Preference for licensed professionals including Licensed Master Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor. Specifications: $45,000-50,000. Valid U.S. work permit. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Therapeutic Counselor – Full Time

The Therapeutic Counselor will be responsible for providing culturally-grounded and trauma informed ongoing therapeutic counseling services for Asian and immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and sex trafficking. Holistic services provided will consider cultural, language and religious dynamics that are traditional barriers to the Asian and immigrant community in fully utilizing available community resources to ensure safety and well-being. Required knowledge, abilities, and skills: Licensed by the state of Texas to provide mental/behavioral health including Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Minimum 2-4 years of professional post-graduate culturally grounded clinical experience providing therapeutic services to traditionally underserved populations. Experience providing mental health services to adults, adolescents and children utilizing various modalities. Specifications: $37,000-42,000. Valid U.S. work permit.

Sexual Assault Advocate– Direct Service – Full Time

The Sexual Assault Advocate will be responsible for providing culturally-grounded and trauma-informed supportive client services for Asian and immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and trafficking. Holistic services provided will consider cultural, language and religious dynamics that are traditional barriers to the Asian and immigrant community in fully utilizing available community resources to ensure safety and well-being. Qualifications include but not limited to: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Public Health, Psychology or other related field and two years’ experience with advocacy or case management, sexual assault intervention, counseling, and/or crisis management OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in trauma-informed service provision. Knowledge of culturally-grounded service provision to traditionally underserved populations. Knowledge of Asian cultures, respect for all cultures, and ability to interact with diverse groups. Strong familiarity with one or more Asian languages and of Austin-area community resources. Specifications: This position is grant dependent. 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekend commitments. Salary range $30,000-32,000 plus health benefits. Valid U.S. work permit required.

Program Associate

The Program Associate will be responsible for providing culturally-grounded and trauma-informed supportive client services for Asian and immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and sex trafficking. Qualifications include but not limited to: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Public Health, Psychology or other related field or minimum 2-year experience in nonprofit work. Experience in trauma-informed service provision. Knowledge of culturally-grounded service provision to traditionally underserved populations. Knowledge of Asian cultures, respect for all cultures, and ability to interact with diverse groups. Strong familiarity with one or more Asian languages. Knowledge of local Austin-area community resources. Specifications: This position is grant dependent. 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekend commitments. Salary range $30,000-32,000 plus health benefits. Valid U.S. work permit required.

Hospital Accompaniment Advocate – Hourly

The Hospital Accompaniment Advocate will be responsible for providing culturally-grounded and trauma-informed supportive accompaniment during the Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE) for Asian and other immigrant survivors of sexual violence to gather evidence for future use by medical and legal personnel in the pursuit and investigation of a criminal case. Scheduling Specifications include but not limited to: Minimum of two shifts a week, including one weekend shift On call shift on the rotation schedule is a 12-hour period. The Hospital Accompaniment Advocate will be paid a stipend for the on-call shift, regardless of the number of service requests. Advocate must be able to be dispatched to SANE exam location within 60 minutes of receiving a call. Requirements include but not limited to: Must have reliable car and phone service. Complete and pass a fingerprint and background check. Knowledge of culturally-grounded service provisions to traditionally underserved populations. Strong familiarity with one or more Asian languages Specifications: This position is hourly paid position. Hours vary depending on service call requests. $15/hour during provision of services, training, and supervision activities. Additional $30 stipend for 12 hour on-call shift. Not eligible for benefits. Valid U.S. work permit required.

Community Education and Outreach

Community Education Program Manager- Full Time

The Program Manager position will be responsible for the management, implementation of objectives, leadership and guidance of the Community Education and Outreach Program. The Program Manager provides overall direction and management of programs and must operate with great latitude for independent judgment and initiative. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. Specifications: Full-time position that is 40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekend commitments. Community Education Prevention Coordinator – Full Time

The Prevention Coordinator will play an active role the development of AFSSA’s Prevention program. Under the supervision of the Community Education Program Manager, the Prevention Coordinator will conduct outreach, design and deliver educational sessions and prevention programs that aim to address and reduce gender-based violence. Candidate should also have an understanding of domestic violence and of immigrant issues. Specifications: $32,000 – $34,000, based on experience and Valid U.S. work permit required. Sexual Assault Community Outreach – Program Associate – Full Time

The Sexual Assault Outreach Program Associate will be responsible for increasing awareness of issues related to sexual violence, by educating the Asian communities about existing intervention and prevention services, initiating programming as needed to create safe spaces for survivors to learn about resources while creating strong collaborations with mainstream service providers to improve access and outreach to AAPI communities. Qualifications include but not limited to: Bachelor’s Degree in public health, education, sociology, social work, or related field and two years of field-related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural in an Asian language preferred. Demonstrated experience in facilitating and delivering trainings and presentations. Experience in the field of sexual assault and/or intimate partner violence preferred. Specifications: This position is grant dependent. 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekend commitments. Starting salary range $32,000 to $34,000. Health plan offered. U.S. work permit required.

Internship & Fellowship Inquries

AFSSA accepts internships on a rolling basis for Fall, Spring, and Summer. All internships require a 20 hour minimum per week. Currently, AFSSA is only accepting two direct service interns per term, one community education intern per term. We are currently not accepting any counseling internships or fellowship inquires.
